Violence Prevention


"Cool Kids"

is a program for children in preschool through 5th grade designed to help students make cool choices.

Using developmentally appropriate activities and interactive presentations, students learn techniques to prevent violence and make cool choices.  Topics included in our program:

  • Hands are for helping...not hitting!
  • What to do with anger.
  • How to handle a bully.
  • What to do in an emergency.
  • To stop and think.
  • They are special.
  • How to make good decisions.
  • Conflict resolution.
  • Being different is okay.
  • How to be safe with "Charlie Check First".

"Heart to Heart"

HOPE is an organization of social change whose mission is the safe elimination of domestic violence through intervention, prevention and collaboration.  In support of this mission, HOPE developed and offers its Heart to Heart curriculum for Middle School students.  HOPE believes that building self esteem and empathy in today's youth will have a profound and lasting effect on eliminating domestic violence.

Domestic/Dating Violence

Dating violence is the physical or verbal abuse between partners in a casual or serious relationship.
